The counseling & coaching process can often be mysterious, confusing, and intimidating. Read below for some of the most frequently asked questions and answers.
FEES & INSURANCE
HOW MUCH DOES COUNSELING COST?
As a licensed professional counselor (LPC), I have been highly trained with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Counseling and have over 10 years of experience specializing with young men and their families. To be transparent, if you are looking for low-cost counseling, my services may not be for you. My rates are $120.00 for each 50 minute session. DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
I do not directly bill insurance (for a number of reasons) but can be considered an out-of-network psychotherapist. I can provide a comprehensive receipt called a “superbill” which can be submitted for possible insurance reimbursement (ranging from 0-100% coverage).
I do accept health-saving-accounts (HSAs) and flex-spending-accounts (FSAs) which can help make the therapy process more affordable.
HOW IT WORKS?
HOW DOES COUNSELING WORK?
My counseling and coaching is an individualized, yet evidenced-based process, where we co-create strategies and re-work stories that solve your challenges and concerns. Similar to physical fitness, counseling builds our mental, emotional and communicative muscles to increase motivation to manage our mental health, emotional health, physical health, spiritual health, and relational health.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COUNSELING AND COACHING?
Counseling: provides individuals and families with the time and space to make meaning out of difficult situations while gaining the skills to bring the 7 components of holistic health (mental, emotional, behavioral, relational, physical, spiritual, academic/career) back to a baseline of happiness, health, and productivity.
Coaching: is designed to inspire and equip clients with the motivation, vision, and direction to bring their lives to the next level; achieving personal, social, and professional goals for success.
