My story

I built these tools to get through grad school.

I was diagnosed with ADHD in my early thirties. By then I'd already finished a master's degree with a 3.97, and I'd done it by building my own tools, because the standard advice didn't work for me. Those tools became the framework I use today, and they keep getting better.

I started in career counseling and moved into therapy. What I saw, again and again, was that “just do it” was the wrong diagnosis. People weren't lacking effort or intelligence. The system around them wasn't built for how their brain works. That's an executive function problem, and it's fixable.

That's why I moved to coaching. Structure without support falls apart, and support without structure drifts. Coaching gives you both. I no longer provide therapy. I coach.

Three levels of help

I've worked at all three, so I can tell you which one you need.

Some problems need deep psychotherapy. Some need a structured, skills-based approach like CBT. Some need a coach. They're different tools, and the worst outcome is the right person in the wrong room.

I've worked at each level: narrative and solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and coaching. Today I coach, and I'll tell you honestly when something else should come first.

Deep psychotherapy

Where patterns came from, and what to do with them. Slow, exploratory, and sometimes essential.

Structured work (CBT)

Focused, time-limited skills for changing how you think and what you do.

Coaching

For capable people who need structure and support to run themselves on purpose. This is what I do.
