Growing up, my family experienced chaos, dysfunction, and violence. We also experienced healing, unity, and growth. This is my story.

I am the youngest of 4 boys. I not only endured, but witnessed my brothers and best friends go through hell and back. My biological father was a source of cruelty, confusion, and abandonment. Eventually, my wonderfully strong mother left him, leaving my mom alone - and us 4 boys broken.  Our home was filled with constant fighting, tears, and pain. We were angry. We were scared. We were hurt.

When I was 7 years old, the man I consider my true father, married my mom and eventually adopted all 4 of us boys (2 were teenagers). This retired minister and current businessman is the best man I know. Through his insight, protection, and patience we united as a family and healed as individuals. He taught us how to take ownership for our own lives, our health, behaviors, and future. I witnessed all 3 brothers work through pain, go to college, and start careers and families of their own.

I saw that restoration, peace, and happiness was possible.

My father taught us to serve others. Since I was 16 I knew I wanted to be a counselor; I knew I wanted to help other kids and families experience this transformation. At 18 I began my pursuing my professional journey by pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health Services - Counseling emphasis as well as Non-Profit Administration. I then worked in student development, leadership, and health programming for several years (e.g. after school programs, summer camps, non-profit organizations, and Universities). While getting my Masters in Clinical Counseling I identified the work that I love to do, Life and Career Development. I realized that wrestling with the questions such as Who Am I? and What do I want to do when I grow up? and What’s holding me back? is the work that I truly to do. As a professional counselor, I provided counseling and career development with University students and alumni. But I knew something was off… I was working with so many young people that were overwhelmed with pressure, stress and anxiety, had almost no sense of purpose or meaning, and were struggling with depression and self-sabotage.

A vision for different approach: Integrating life coaching, therapy and career counseling to address whole person.

In 2015 the work I was doing wasn’t extensive enough enough; teens, young adults and working professionals didn't need therapy, they needed to untangle the webs of hurt and confusion that were holding them back. They needed to tap into their deeper aspirations, to have a plan for moving forward and actually have the solutions, strategies and skills to address the challenges they were facing. So I created LifeSketch Counseling and Coaching. Our unique LifeSketch Approach with a team a team of relatable, experienced professionals, guides students young adults, and mid-career adults through a process of transformation. We help people create a more confidence, motivation and direction in their lives, relationships and careers.
